What do you get when you cross America’s most successful board game with some of Japan’s most beloved video games? You get some really excited geeks, that’s what!

Nintendo is teaming up with Milton Bradley to make two crossover monopoly games. The first has already been released through Gamestop and features characters from the Legend of Zelda. The Zelda themed tokens that include the triforce, shield, hookshot, bow, boomerang, and the Gamestop exclusive ocarina. Zeldapoly

The board is filled with your favorite places from the series and includes the Hyrule Castle as Park Place and the Temple of Time as Board Walk. I simply must own this.

The second, which features Pokemon from the Kanto region, is set to be released August 30, but is currently taking pre-orders. Not too many details have been released yet, but we can tell that different Pokeballs have replaced the railroads.Pokemonoply 2

Also it looks as if each series of properties takes on the Pokemon from the gyms that you face in the Kanto region. For example Mediterranean and Baltic Avenue have been replaced with Geodude and Onix from Brock’s Gym. The tokens include a Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Eevee, and a Jigglypuff.

The Zelda themed Monopoly will run you $39.99 where as the Pokemon will cost a bit more at $44.99. That may seem kind of expensive, but I bet fans of the series will have a difficult time saying no.Pokemonopoly

The only downside is the missed chance of some great puns. The games are simply being called Monopoly when they had the chance to use both Pokemonopoly and Zeldapoly.

Come on Milton Bradley, get in the game!
